Turkey Burgers


These are my world famous turkey burgers! At least according to my children 🙂 The one thing with my cooking is that I am terrible at measuring things! I think this is why I love to cook, but I am a horrible baker!

  1. 1 lb lean ground turkey

  2. 1 small chopped red pepper

  3. 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms

  4. 1/2 red onion chopped

  5. 1 can black beans drained-low sodium or no salt added

  6. Fat free Southwestern Salsa (1/2 container)-

  7. Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs

  8. Crushed Red Pepper

  9. Garlic

  10. Sea Salt

  11. Chopped cilantro

  12. Egg Whites

Mix all this together and form into patties. I was able to get 12 small burgers from this, but this depends on how big or small you want them to be. I like to grill them and then add cheese at the end. You can play around with the recipe, add your own ingredients and make it your own. My children love when I make these, they say they are better than the other “burgers”. For me it’s a great alternative to a fatty burger. I usually have it over a nice green salad, with veggies on the side, or with baked sweet potato. Sometimes I have as a burger topped with avocado, lettuce & tomato.
